Notes: The Group was briefed at 0410 hours, and all operational aircraft were airborne by 0746 hours. Flying Control was notified at 1455 hours that the formation was 88 minutes late at Control Point No. 2, and it was not until 1638 hours that all aircraft had landed.

Summary: The 401st provided three squadrons making up the 94th Combat Wing "A" Group on this mission. As in the previous day's mission, the target was the gun emplacements at Royan, on the French coast, still held by German troops. Bombing was conducted visually by sections, with four of the sections achieving excellent results.
No German flak or fighters were encountered, and all of the Group's aircraft returned without incident.
