Summary: The Group, consisting of three squadrons, made up the 94th Combat Wing "B" formation. Since the target was covered by 9/10th's to 10/10th's clouds, bombing was by PFF (radar). However, after bombs away some visual check points indicated that the bombing had been reasonably accurate.
The moderate and accurate flak bursts caused battle damage to eleven Group aircraft. While no Luftwaffe fighters attacked the B-17's, a single B-24 Group lost 25 of its aircraft in three minutes in a mass formation attack by German FW 190 fighters.
