Staff Sgt. Elwood Norr (1st Lt. Keck's Homing Pigeon crew)

My husband and I learned of our city Marquette, Michigan's local connection to the 613th bomb squadron, 401st bomb group through a winter 1945 newspaper article about Staff Sgt. Elwood Norr being reported KIA by the German government during an 11/21/44 mission over Germany. Thanks to this website, I have learned ball turret gunner Norr's plane that day was the "Homing Pigeon," and have a list of names of the crew beginning with pilot 1st Lt. R.J. Keck. If anyone on this message board remembers or can connect us with anyone who knew/served with Elwood Norr, please post a reply here or e-mail me directly. Thanks!

The area code for Rochester, NY was changed from (716) to (585) in August 2002. The seven digit phone number would be the same as posted.

There is a negative in the National Archives (see message on Board on ordering pictures from the National Archives) NASA #65643AC (I believe AC is aircraft or aircrew). You might also ask the archives for any negatives on the crew filed by pilot name. Give them the Group, Squadron (if known) and pilot's name.
