AJ DePippo - Hells Angels out of Chute 13

My grandfather is AJ DePippo who served in the 401st. He says he was a part of the crew for "Hells Angels from Chute 13". Does anyone remember him? He said he flew a few missions before getting the bends. I have the big blue book from the war...Interesting stuff!!!

If your grandfather has told you his pilot's name, you can look it up on the list of crews and get the names of other crewmembers and a list of missions. I can get you more info on the planes he flew plus if photos exist that you can get pictures of from the National Archives (as described under my message on the forum).

The site has another 401st ship "Hellsadroppin II' also from the 612th - may be worth a look

I am rather sure I remember DePippo, I was grounded after flying for a while , and worked on the ship Hells Angels out of chute 13 , for over a year , untill the end of the war
What ever happened to him ,and where did he live out his life.

My stepfather is Alex Girogiani...he flew with the 401st and was part of the crew of Hells Angels from Chute 13!! I have been trying to find members of his crew and just discovered your posting. I see your post is from 2002, but I hope you are still checking this site. I will ask my stepfather if he remembers your grandfather. I would love to be able to put Alex in touch with a buddy from the crew.

Yea it's been years....My grandfather passed on Aug 27th 2010. I have the yearbook from the division he served in...great stories....great photos!!!!!
