Looking for information on Battlin' Betty

My grandfather (George S. Wilson from Ohio) was a part of the crew of the Battlin' Betty under the command of pilot Alvah Chapman.  I believe that he was a top turret gunner.  If possible I would like to know more about their missions and what they did.  Unfortunately my grandfather passed away 5 years ago, but he was a great man, a hero to me, and I would like to know as much as possible about his time in WWII so I can pass it along with my own memory of him.  Thank you in advance for any information.

Sincerely,

Scott Wilson

The B-17 nose directory indicates that there is a picture of this aircraft of the 401BG/614th 42-39847.

Send e-mail to:

StillPix@arch2.nara.gov

Give name of the plane the Group and Squadron and your Home address.  They will send you a paper copy of it and if you like can order a copy of the picture from the actual negative.  Cost is about $25.00 for 5X7 size print.

I will scan the document I have indicating all the missions on it.  But it does not indicate the plane or serial number on any of their missions.
