this aircraft was floewn by captain james f. risher jr. and crew for 32 mission from may through august l944, assigned to 614th squadron. i do not the aircraft number, but i would like to know what happened to the home james after my father flew it and if it made through the rest of the war intact, and possibly what happened to it afterward.

No Serial Number listed in the B-17 Nose are directory nor did it indicate there was a picture of it.
Files I have on the flights of this crew show 8 of their missions flown on other air craft.
Hard Seventeen, Chute The works, Stormy Weather, Bettie's Revenge and Miss 'B' Haven.
The rest indicate no specific name. The 401BG new book indicates this name existed but no serial number is shown.

Are you James Franklin Risher? Was your father a Colonel? Were you or your father born in South Carolina? Are you from Eutawville, SC? Did you have a Kerelia Parker in your family?

Dad was navigator on the Home James a few missions when your dad flew i think.

I think my Dad was a anvigator bombardier on the Home James-my aunt told me that it crashed on takeoof with a full bomb load-but this could have been another plane my Dad flew on which I think was called Rosie's Sweat Box. guy mcclung III
