My brother-in-law, in Dallas, posted a message on your board some time ago, asking about a secret underground hospital built north of Weldon Northamptonshire England close to the Deenethorpe base, I have checked on your board but as yet have seen no reply. I understand that this hospital may have been used for secret chemical tests using human guinea pigs, my research has uncovered, that in the war years the giant steelworks close to Weldon, did research on nerve gas agents, and there is a rumour that Rudolph Hess, may have been involved, as he may have visited the area in 1941. Awaitng a reply Kit Mallin.

Subterrania Britanica have a site report on the "Underground Hospital" at Corby Steelworks, in reality the works' ARP control bunker.

The photos showing a cylindrical pit type thing are where radioactive isotopes, used in fatigue testing of dragline jibs, were kept in later years.

All the best, and Happy new Year to all,

Paul Bellamy

I have visited this bunker, and I can tell you it was never a ARP control bunker. For one thing, it has a turntable for ambulances, and there is a walled up area that the owners Corus say, is a emergency exit, but my information is that it was the entrance to a well equiped hospital, I have spoken to workers, who told me that it was the best equiped hospital in the area, but for what I do not know.
