Question re records at Maxwell AFB

In my research at the National Archives, I came across this statement: "A complete pictorial history of the group in the form of two large scrapbooks, and a detailed narrative in the form of the Group and Squadron Histories, is maintained by the Public Relations Office".
I do not know if this history survived. An Archivist told me that the National Archives does not have it. He suggested I contact Maxwell AFB. For you folks who are familiar with the records at Maxwell, do you know if Maxwell has such a history? Thanks

Got your message and for everyone's benefit, I will be there for a week in July in an Air Force school. Should have a little time to do some research.

1. I understand, from staff members of the National Archives and the Air Force Historical Research Agency, Maxwell AFB, that all the 401BG original documents are the holdings of the National Archives, and from time-to-time, are 'on-loan' to other agencies (like AFHRA, Maxwell AFB). For example, the NARA's WWII AAF still picture collection were 'on-loan' to the Smithsonian (National Air & Space Museum) but has since returned to NARA II, College PArk, Md.
2. Pictorial History 'scrapbook': Could the 'scrapbooks' referred to be the fore-runner of the 'Bluebook' [prior to the Bluebook actually being published at War's end].? Just a guess.

I work at Wright-Patterson for ACSC/OL-A, the IDE program which is the first separate operating location for Air Command and Staff College. My boss will be at Maxwell starting 30 May and will be down there for a week helping run Gathering of Eagles. I just called him at home and will print out the original message and the subsequent messages and he will go over there and see what he can find for us.
