My dad is Denver Charleville.  I have been trying to do some research into his time with the 401st.  I found this website today for the 401stBG and have been so excited to find this treasure of information.  If anyone has information that I could share with my dad I would really appreciate it.  I would especially like pictures or anything regarding his time with the 401st which looks like it was at least June-August 1944 and possibly longer.  Thank you so much!

If you return to the page that shows the missions that he flew you will find that he flew as a co-pilot and then was was flying with the same crew only as pilot this time he flew thru November 1944.

Thank you for the info.  I downloaded everything I could find about him and gave it to him (he is not computer savvy).  I was also hoping to find any personal anecdotes or other information that people may have for him.

Wished I could help you their but I wasn't even a gleam in my Dad's eye during WWII.  My uncle is my connection to the 401st BG KIA 24 Aug 1944, 613th BS 1st mission.  Hope that someone who remembers him can help I will look at the 2000 Directory and see if any one appears in it.  Will let you know.

Donald, Thanks for trying.  I will keep looking and updating my dad as I can.  He and I have planned a trip to the Palm Springs Air Museum soon.  They have a great research library from what I have been told and they will interview him for their records.  I'm excited to hear it myself.  He doesn't talk a lot about those times but he is very excited about tracking down whatever information he can.

That is great to be able to be their during the interview.  I read an interview before and it can be very interesting.

IF there are any planes he flew that have negatives in the National Archives, I can let you know and you can get xeroxes of the photos and info on how to order photos from their negative.  Let me know if there is a particular plane you are interested in.

Thank you so much, that sounds great!  Actually, he has been trying to find information on the aircraft with the Leading Lady logo on it.  I can't find in all of the information of this website any planes in his area called the Leading Lady.  I have found another aircraft with that title but it wasn't stationed where he was.   That is the plane that sticks out most in his mind although it looks like he flew several.  If you are able to find the appropriate one, that would really be wonderful.  I'll keep checking here to see if you have responded.  I've included my e-mail too but if I don't recognize the name, I don't open it so make sure your message says something I would be apt to open.  Thanks again.
